Early military post on Santa Cruz about 15 miles northeast of Tubac.  Was named after Simon Cameron, Secretary of War under President Lincoln.  Was an uncle of the Cameron Bros., well known cattle raisers near here 1882-90.

Heitman List says: "established Oct. 1, 1866; abandoned Mar. 7, 1867."  See Camp Connor.
