Hinton Map, 1878; Smith 1879
Pass through Cottonwood range on Hardyville-Prescott road, west of Cross mountain. Wheeler was here January 30, 1855, and says: "From the peculiar vegetation, we give it the name of Cactus Pass. We can look easterly through it and see the bulk of Cross mountain and the Aquarius range. The pass is a deep gorge in a high range of granite mountains."
