If you are new to Arizona Place Names you may want to take a moment to read the About Page to get an idea of what this blog is about and what I am trying to accomplish. Thanks, Peggy

Bonellis Crossing, AZ

Bonellis Crossing

Mohave Co.

Early Mormon settlement on Colorado river near mouth of Virgin river.  Later called Stones Ferry, q.v. After Daniel Bonelli who came from the Muddy and settled on the Colorado about 6 miles from the Virgin.

"Bonelli's Ferry consisted of a flat boat which a man pulls across the river with a line.  For two persons and a wagon the charge is ten dollars; 50 cents for each additional person.  The river can be forded here but is very dangerous.'  Elliot.
