Rises in Blue range, in T. 3 N., Rs. 28, 29 E. flows northwest into Black river at Greenlee county line.  "In 1884 when Pete Slaughter drove his cattle into this valley bears were very numerous.  Their 'wallows' were everywhere along the creek, where the animals came to fight flies."  Letter, Arthur Slaughter, Springerville.
