Bangs Mountain

Elevation 7,500 feet.  East side Virgin mountains.  In extreme  northwest corner of State.  Clarence King named it for James E. Bangs, clerk with his party.

"After several days  below St. George, Utah, we made a long, hard ride and climb.  Camped at the base of what is now called Mount Bangs, the highest peak of the Virgin Mountains. "  Dellenbaugh.
