Aztec Peak

Gila County
Map, Tonto N. F., 1927

In sec. 5 T. 5 N., R 14 E.  Aztec is a common name all over the southwest.  Bud Armer says his father called it "Lookout Peak" because they used it as a lookout in hunting cattle and horses.  He did not know how or when the name Aztec originated.  See Armer.
