Mountain at right of Hance canyon in Grand Canyon.  Called Ayer peak for Mrs. Ed E. Ayer of Flagstaff and Chicago, the first white women to descend the canyon at this point.   "Mr. Ayer came to Flagstaff in 1881 and started the Ayer Lumber Co.  He was a pioneer of Arizona, serving in the California Volunteer Regiment in 1860.  President of the Field Columbian Museum at Chicago for many years."  James.
