In T. 14 N., R 4 E. Early settlement and P.O. on Verde river. "After a family by this name which once lived here. P.O. discontinued in 1915. There is now nothing but a service station and small store." Letter, R. W. Wingfield, P.M., Camp Verde. "Mr. Boyer, an old timer, says Aultman was the name of the old post office at Conger mill. It was named after a man named Aultman who lived thre. He says the name has always been used for the Middle Verde P.O. whenever they have had one." Letter, Forest Supervisor Grubb, Prescott.
