In T. 19 N., R. 9 E.  Northeast of Mormon lake.  After William Ashurst, pioneer cattleman, father of Senator Ashurst.  In 1900 Mr. Ashurst was prospecting in the Grand Canyon above Bright angel creek.  Accidently caught under a dislodged boulder he was unable to release himself and died of exhaustion.  When found he had written his last messages in a small notebook which lay by his side.  He was buried on the rim on the Canyon above.
